Councillor Frank De Masi has been re-elected Deputy Mayor of The Hills Shire Council.
Mayor, Michelle Byrne (pictured with Cr De Masi), congratulated Cr De Masi on his reappointment, acknowledging his dedication, passion, and leadership over the past year.
“Councillor De Masi has worked extremely hard in his role as Deputy Mayor and his reappointment reflects the hard work and commitment he has shown in the role over the past 12 months,” Mayor Byrne said.
“Frank is a proud Hills resident who has served as a Councillor since 2017. His enthusiasm for The Hills is an incredible asset in our advocacy efforts for our residents.
“He has played a key role in several Council initiatives. Notably, he led the charge against abandoned shopping trolleys, as he felt more needed to be done to keep them contained to shopping centres.
“To show how dedicated he is, on a self-funded family holiday to Singapore, he visited a waste-to-energy facility and brought back valuable insights to help inform Council’s waste strategy.
“Most recently, during our Fight for a Fairer Hills Future campaign, Frank was out in front. He engaged the community and collected signatures to support our call for critical infrastructure investment.”
Deputy Mayor De Masi said he was grateful for the opportunity to continue serving in the role.
“I’m incredibly thankful to my Council colleagues for their support and trust. I feel very humbled. I look forward to continuing to work alongside them to deliver for the community,” Cr De Masi said.
Cr De Masi holds a Bachelor of Business degree, majoring in Human Resource Management, and an advanced certificate in Management. He is also a Graduate of The Australian Institute of Company Directors.
He will continue in the position of Deputy Mayor until 8 September 2026.
