Privacy Awareness Week (PAW) 2025, runs from Monday 16 June to Sunday 22 June.

The annual initiative is led by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and promotes the importance of protecting personal information by encouraging everyone to make privacy their business.

The theme for this year’s campaign, ‘Privacy, it’s everyone’s business’, highlights that good privacy practices are essential across all areas of work and life.

“Privacy is everyone’s business. At Georges River Council, we are committed to embedding strong privacy practices into everything we do to build trust with our community and safeguard the information we hold,” said Council General Manager, David Tuxford.

“Privacy Awareness Week is an opportunity to pause and reflect on how we handle information. It’s also a chance to empower our staff to take small, practical steps to protect privacy in their everyday work.”
