The Snowy Valleys Council composting facility has unveiled a new tractor and mulcher, which it says will help to process green waste more efficiently and produce more high quality compost.
The equipment was made possible through a $50,000 contribution from Visy and the Pratt Foundation, together with a $10,000 investment from Council using revenue generated through its FOGO operations.
“The new machinery will help us process green waste into smaller, more consistent pieces, mix and move organic material more efficiently across the site, and make it easier to load compost for residents,” Council said in a statement.
“Helping us turn more food and garden waste into valuable compost.”
