LGNSW environment awards tickets on sale

Tickets are now on sale for LGNSW’s Excellence in the Environment Awards, to be held on Tuesday 6 December at Prince Henry Centre, Little Bay.

Keynote speaker Dr Dianne McGrath will join guests at the Finalists’ Forum. Dr McGrath is a leading sustainability expert and one of 100 shortlisted astronaut candidates worldwide in Mars One’s one-way Mars Mission.

“We invite you to join the Finalists’ Forum to learn and be inspired by Dr McGrath and hear from several councils showcasing their finalist projects, which demonstrate best practices within their sector,” LGNSW said in a statement.

Topics include Using Citizen Science to Discover Platypus, Transitioning to a Net Zero Future, Improving The Resilience of Gravel Roads, and Protecting An Endangered Population of Coastal Emus.

The Finalists’ Forum will be held from 9.30am- 12.20pm on 6 December, followed by the awards ceremony. Winners will be announced during a three-course lunch from 12.30pm-3pm.

Tickets to the forum only or forum and awards are available to all council staff or individuals interested in attending.
