Greater Dandenong City Council is calling for “bold” investment to help shape the future of the fast-growing local government area, with the launch of its 2026–27 advocacy campaign – A Great Future for Greater Dandenong.
The campaign calls on all levels of government to invest in the infrastructure, services and facilities needed to support one of Victoria’s fastest-growing and most diverse municipalities.
Mayor, Sophie Tan said the campaign was focused on securing investment that will deliver long-term benefits for residents, businesses and visitors.
“Greater Dandenong is not waiting for the future – we are actively shaping it,” Mayor Tan said.
“Greater Dandenong is a city of opportunity, innovation and diversity. As our community continues to grow, it is essential that investment in infrastructure, services and facilities grows with it.
“Our advocacy priorities are aimed at ensuring our residents can access quality services, move around our city more easily, enjoy welcoming public spaces and benefit from a thriving local economy.
“This campaign is about creating a great future for Greater Dandenong and ensuring our community has every opportunity to grow and thrive.”
Over the coming months, the Council says it will work closely with federal and state governments, industry partners and key stakeholders to advance priorities that support:
- Modern community facilities and infrastructure
- Better access to health, wellbeing and support services
- Safer, easier transport connections
- More local jobs, business growth and investment
- Welcoming parks, streets and public spaces
