Victorian Local Government Minister, Nick Staikos, has received the final report from the municipal monitors appointed last year to Moonee Valley City Council.
The Minister today formally acknowledged the work completed by the monitors, Prue Digby and Phillip Carruthers, between January 2024 and February this year.
“The report highlights the council’s improvements while the monitors have been in place, including strengthened administration and governance functions, and an increased positive working culture at the council,” said Mr Staikos.
“The report made recommendations to the Council to support the work already underway in strengthening its governance practices.
“The monitors noted that the Council has shown its strong commitment to implementing the recommendations and are satisfied that further intervention will not be required.
“I thank Ms Digby and Mr Carruthers for contributing their expertise and time to these important roles,” he said.
