DevelopmentWA prepares City of Bunbury land release

DevelopmentWA is preparing to release more than 55 hectares of zoned residential development land to market in the state’s South West.

WA Planning and Lands Minister John Carey says the land located in Usher, within the City of Bunbury local government area, will deliver a substantial increase in local residential land supply to support housing growth.

The planning for the site has been recently reviewed to ensure that it meets modern development requirements and the Water Corporation has confirmed funding to deliver the required upgrades, subject to agreement with the future developer.

Mr Carey said the land release would provide developers an opportunity to deliver more than 300 new residential lots to the South West.

“Our Government is working to accelerate the delivery of housing, including through land releases across Western Australia,” he said.

“This release creates development opportunity for new homes in Bunbury, and through DevelopmentWA, the land will be fast-tracked to the market.”
