The City of Wanneroo has been recognised for its sustained excellence in service delivery, taking out the Master Builders Association award for Local Government Best Practice.
“The Approvals team has done an amazing job in supporting the building industry during the current building boom,” Council said in a statement.
“This is not the first time the team has won this award on behalf of the City, having previously won the award in 2016 and 2017.”
For the year, the City has seen a 75% increase in building applications received compared to 2019/20.
A remarkable 99.99% of those applications were approved within their legislated timeframes, allowing eligible new homeowners to meet the relevant criteria around approval timeframes for their grants.
