Ukraine Ambassador to Australia, Vasyl Myroshnychenko, will address 1,000 local government leaders in Canberra today.
His Excellency Myroshnychenko will present to mayors and councillors attending the second day of the National General Assembly (NGA) of Local Government.
The Ambassador is expected to speak on the current state of affairs in Ukraine, and how Australian councils can lend their support.
The Ambassador yesterday met with Dame Annette King, High Commissioner of New Zealand in Australia (pictured), saying of the meeting, “Many thanks for the support that the Government of New Zealand has provided to Ukraine so far. I look forward to promoting Ukraine-New Zealand bilateral relations”.
He has been based in Canberra since March, after the posting was expedited due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
