Top City of Melville citizen joins council ranks

City of Melville Council has a new a face following an Extraordinary Election for the Palmyra-Melville-Willagee Ward today.

Michael McGoldrick was elected and will be sworn in during a Special Meeting of Council in the City’s Chambers on 31 March.

Councillor Elect McGoldrick (pictured) was the 2024 City of Melville Auspire Community Citizen of the Year. 

“I congratulate and welcome Councillor Elect Michael McGoldrick on your election,” said Mayor, Katy Mair.

“On behalf of the City, I look forward to working closely and collaboratively with you to achieve our vision of a vibrant, sustainable and inclusive Melville.”

He joins Councillor Karen Wheatland in the Palmyra-Melville-Willagee Ward.

The Extraordinary Election was conducted by the Western Australian Electoral Commission.
