Through a partnership with the Queensland Government, City of Moreton Bay Council has completed $250,000 in local security upgrades to improve community safety across the region.
Utilising the State Government’s investment, new CCTV and licence plate recognition technology has been installed at the corner of Plantation Road and Old Gympie Road in Dakabin, providing enhanced monitoring capabilities and supporting efforts to identify and prevent criminal activity.
Minister for Local Government and Water, Ann Leahy said the project demonstrated the Government’s commitment to making Queensland communities safer.
“Queenslanders voted for action on community safety, and this investment delivers exactly that by providing local authorities with additional tools to help deter crime and improve public safety,” Minister Leahy said.
City of Moreton Bay Mayor, Peter Flannery said the completed project would deliver significant benefits for the local community.
“The additional CCTV and licence plate recognition technology will help make our community safer. We thank the State Government, and the Queensland Police Service, for their support in helping deter crime across City of Moreton Bay,” Mayor Flannery said.
“The delivery of this project is a testament to what can be achieved when local and state governments work together to deliver meaningful outcomes for our community.”
