Georges River Council is inviting the community to provide feedback on a planning proposal for the Hurstville Golf Course Clubhouse to be used as a function centre for community events.
The Council says the proposed change would only apply to the clubhouse and will not affect the height of the building or amount of development allowed on the land.
The plans also include an amendment to Council’s Generic Plans of Management. The clubhouse and surrounding golf course would be re-categorised from Sportsground to General Community Use, allowing a function centre with Council approval.
“This Planning Proposal will transform the Clubhouse into a lively community hub where people can come together,” said Mayor, Elise Borg.
“I encourage everyone to have their say and help us shape a space that benefits the whole community.”
The Planning Proposal and draft amendment to the Generic Plans of Management are on public exhibition until 16 March.
A public hearing will be held on Monday 2 March from 6 – 7pm at the Georges River Civic Centre in Hurstville. Attendees are encouraged to register.
