New term for City of Casey Mayor

Councillor Stefan Koomen has been unanimously re-elected as City of Casey Council Mayor, with Cranbourne Gardens Ward Councillor, Michelle Crowther, elected Deputy Mayor at last night’s Council Meeting.

Mayor Koomen said he was honoured and humbled to be re-elected Mayor.

“I’d like to thank my fellow Councillors for their continued support and trust.  This past year has been both challenging and rewarding and it’s a privilege to once again lead our Council group,” he said.

“I also would like to acknowledge and thank the outgoing Deputy Mayor Cr Melinda Ambros, whose support, time and commitment to our group has been invaluable.

“Over the past year, I have had the privilege to meet many residents, community groups and organisations. It’s their diversity, dedication and care that make Casey such a great place to live. I can’t wait to once again serve our community as Mayor and work together to make a difference.”

Deputy Mayor Crowther thanked her fellow Councillors for placing their support and trust in her.

“I promise to continue to work hard and support the Councillor group to achieve great outcomes for the Casey community,” she said.

“As a Councillor, a highlight for me has been the opportunity to meet so many community volunteers and groups. Now as Deputy Mayor, I’m looking forward to meeting even more groups, together we can make Casey thrive. Importantly, I want to let our residents know that you are at the heart of all we do. We are your voice, and we’ll continue to listen, advocate and deliver what is important to you.”
