Hornsby Shire Council has announced the appointment of Katherine Vickery as its new Director, Planning and Compliance.
Ms Vickery has been with Hornsby Shire Council for 20 years, commencing her career as a Strategic Planner and progressing through a range of senior roles over two decades.
In a statement, the Council said her appointment reflects its commitment to professional development and supporting employees to realise their full career potential.
Ms Vickery said she was proud to continue her career with the Council and to take on the role at an important time.
“This role is about setting clear direction, responding to planning reform and working closely with government, councillors and the community to deliver balanced planning outcomes for the Shire,” she said.
As Director, Planning and Compliance, Ms Vickery will lead Council’s Planning and Compliance Division, with responsibility for strategic land use planning, development assessment and regulatory compliance, supporting sustainable growth and long‑term liveability across Hornsby Shire.
“Having acted in the role for six months, Katherine has played a pivotal role in supporting Council’s strategic direction. I am confident she will continue to provide valued leadership for Council and our community,” said Acting Council General Manager, Glen Magus.
