Greens Councillor, Clare Willington, has been elected Deputy Mayor of Randwick City Council.
Cr Willington was elected to the position by her fellow councillors at a Council Meeting last night, replacing outgoing Deputy Mayor, Marea Wilson.
Deputy Mayor Willington said she was deeply honoured to be elected and would work hard for the whole community.
“I want to thank my fellow councillors for their confidence and support. It’s a privilege to serve our community in this role,” she said.
“I look forward to working closely with my colleagues across the chamber to deliver positive outcomes for Randwick City. Together we can continue building a safe, sustainable and inclusive city for everyone.
“Randwick has a proud history of sustainability credentials including tree planting, water recycling and biodiversity conservation. I look forward to continuing and expanding on these important initiatives.”
Mayor, Dylan Parker congratulated Cr Willington on her election.
“I congratulate Cr Willington on her election and I look forward to working with her for the betterment of our community,” he said.
“I would also like to thank and acknowledge outgoing deputy mayor Marea Wilson. Your support and commitment to our community over the past year has been commendable.”
