A state-of-the-art community centre has officially opened its doors in Truganina this week.
Victorian Minister for Suburbs, Sonya Kilkenny, joined Minister for Children, Lizzie Blandthorn to celebrate the opening of the $18.4 million Truganina Community Centre, which has been jointly funded by the Government, Wyndham City Council and developers.
The centre has a number of facilities for young families including kindergarten rooms for three and four-year-olds, playgroups, maternal and child health consulting suites.
It also features a 500 square metre library lounge with technology and study spaces, multipurpose community and meeting rooms, a community kitchen, staff offices, accessible amenities, outdoor areas, and on-site parking.
“The new Truganina Community Centre will go a long way to help create vital facilities for families and the community in the area,” said Minister Kilkenny.
“We’re investing in these growing suburbs, to ensure they remain great places to call home, where communities can thrive.”
The Government contributed $8.5 million to the centre, with funding coming from the Growing Suburbs Fund, Building Blocks Infrastructure Program and the Living Libraries Infrastructure Program.
