The Macarthur Mayors Charity Dinner event – a combined effort of Camden, Campbelltown and Wollondilly Councils – has raised $75,000 to support the Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation.
Funds from the event, which is hosted jointly by the Mayors of Camden, Campbelltown and Wollondilly, will go directly towards advanced paediatric equipment, including new ultrasound technology for Campbelltown Hospital, helping ensure young patients in the Macarthur area continue to receive high-quality care close to home.
Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation Chairman, Bruce Hanrahan AM, offered his sincerest thanks to the three hosting Mayors.
“I extend my sincere thanks to the Mayors of Camden, Campbelltown and Wollondilly for uniting our community behind such a meaningful cause,” he said.
“The Macarthur Mayors Charity Dinner was a fitting celebration of Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation’s 25 years of improving children’s health in our region. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, guests and the three councils, an outstanding $75,000 was raised.
“These vital funds will provide advanced paediatric equipment, including new ultrasound technology for Campbelltown Hospital, supporting the care of children and families across Macarthur.”
Camden Mayor, Therese Fedeli said the success of the event demonstrated how deeply the community values supporting local children and families.
“It was inspiring to see the Macarthur community come together in a strong show of generosity and regional pride at the event, which was held at the newly refurbished and reopened Camden Civic Centre on Friday 7 November,” she said.
“These funds will translate into real, practical benefits for our local hospitals and the children who rely on them. A big congratulations to everyone involved.”
Campbelltown Mayor, Darcy Lound said he was proud that the event had raised such significant funds for a worthy recipient.
“Kids of Macarthur have done a tremendous job supporting families and children for the past 25 years, and they’ve made a real difference to healthcare services across our region,” Mayor Lound said.
“I want to thank everyone who generously supported this wonderful event. I’m proud to have joined forces with our neighbouring councils to achieve such a fantastic result for Kids of Macarthur.
“This is a great example of what can be achieved when we work together on collective initiatives that impact all communities and support the whole Macarthur region.”
Wollondilly Mayor, Matt Gould, thanked all who attended the charity night and gave so generously to the work of Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation.
“It was a great opportunity for Wollondilly to collaborate with our neighbouring councils and we achieved a fantastic outcome that will go towards supporting our region’s sickest kids,” he said.
