Liverpool hub accelerates vaccination rate

Mayor of Liverpool, Wendy Waller today announced that a new Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination hub at Moorebank Logistics Park is accelerating access for priority workers in the Liverpool Local Government area with over 1,000 jabs delivered in the first week.

Mayor Waller said the initial three-month program will provide 18,000 first and second dose Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines through the implementation of a two-phase approach. Phase one will provide access to essential workers and their families; phase two will provide access to all eligible local residents.

She said the many vaccination hubs across Liverpool would ensure that everyone who wanted to receive the COVID-19 vaccination could now do so.

“Getting as many Australians fully vaccinated is key to protecting the community against COVID-19 and moving us one step closer to freedom,” said Mayor Waller.

“This new vaccination centre increases the capacity of health staff to administer the vaccine rollout in Liverpool and to further protect our residents, families and the wider community.

“It’s wonderful to see the collaborative approach between governments, communities and the private sector as we continue to strive towards 70 and 80% vaccination rates.

“We’re proud to be doing our bit to help bolster the vaccine roll-out in South West Sydney, and already Liverpool is making significant progress.”

Operated by Company Medical Service (CMS) and funded by Qube, the free access vaccine hub has been established with support from the owned Moorebank Intermodal Company, which is overseeing the development of Moorebank Logistics Park.

The initial focus will be on providing vaccines to essential workers including healthcare, disability and aged care workers, food distribution workers, transport and logistics workers, essential service workers and their families. It will then open to all eligible residents in the Liverpool Local Government area.

The hub is located at Qube Logistics’ Warehouse 5 within the Moorebank Logistics Park, 400 Moorebank Avenue, Moorebank.
