Kiama Council directs staff to work from home amid fuel crisis

Kiama Municipal Council has announced it is directing staff who are able to work from home to do so in a bid to keep rising costs down as the nation’s fuel crisis worsens.

In a statement, the Council confirmed that CEO Jane Stroud was overseeing the adjustments to staff working arrangements.

“Council services will continue, business as usual, during this time and our facilities will remain open as per the usual operating hours,” the Council stated.

“Staff members who have access to a Kiama Council vehicle and can work from home will do so where possible in order to help reduce operating costs.”

Other staff members who are able to work from home due to the nature of their role will also be permitted to do so.

“Council staff functioned well while working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic by using online platforms,” the Council stated.
