Kempsey Shire Council has started works on two of 56 timber bridges that are set to be replaced across the Macleay Valley in the next few years.
Council’s Bridge Crews have commenced construction on the Thackhans Bridge on Wharf Road Kundabung and Parrabel/Majors Creek Bridge on Willi Willi Road, which will both be safer and more durable concrete structures, Council said in a statement today.
The projects are part of the $16 million in funding Council secured from the NSW Government’s Fixing Country Bridges program.
