Hodges new Hills Shire Deputy Mayor

Councillor Mark Hodges (pictured) has been announced as the new Deputy Mayor of Sydney’s Hills Shire Council. 

Hills Shire Mayor, Dr Peter Gangemi congratulated Councillor Hodges on his appointment. 

“Councillor Hodges is a long-term resident of The Hills and has significant knowledge of Local Government. He will be an incredible asset to this Council,” Mayor Gangemi said.

“He has a relentless work ethic and acts with integrity in everything that he does. 

“I couldn’t be more pleased to work alongside Councillor Hodges in his new role as Deputy Mayor. I know he will do us proud.”  

Cr Hodges has lived in the Hills for more than 20 years with his wife Raylee. He holds a Bachelor of Laws, Master of Criminology and a Master of Laws and works as a solicitor at his own firm.  

Earlier in his career, he worked as a police officer. At the time, he was the youngest Senior Sergeant in the NSW Police Force and was a recipient of the NSW Police Medal for Diligent and Ethical Service. 

Councillor Hodges said he is “extremely honoured to be elected to serve as the Deputy Mayor in this important term of Council”.  

“There is a lot of important work which Council will carry out in this term including the completion of important traffic infrastructure; the completion and opening of Waves; the completion of already commenced sporting fields and the commencement of new sporting fields and parks within our Shire.”    

“I look forward to working with Mayor Gangemi in this term in the service of our community,” Cr Hodges added.
