Griffith City Council Director of Sustainable Development, Bruce Gibbs, has resigned effective Thursday, 13 June.
In a statement, the Council said Mr Gibbs was leaving the Council to pursue a new opportunity within local government.
General Manager, Brett Stonestreet, thanked Mr Gibbs for his significant contributions since he commenced his role in September 2022.
“Bruce has been an invaluable team member, and I greatly appreciate his collaboration with the Senior Management Team and all staff, resulting in several key achievements,” said Mr. Stonestreet.
“Notable accomplishments during his tenure include the adoption of the Griffith Local Environmental Plan (LEP) General Amendment and the finalisation of a Development Contributions Plan for Lake Wyangan.
“We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
Council’s Planning and Environment Manager, Carel Potgieter, will assume the role of Acting Director of Sustainable Development during the upcoming recruitment process.
