Goulburn Mulwaree Council has announced the appointment of Robert Hughes as its new Director of Assets and Operations, effective Monday 3 November.
In a statement, the Council said Mr Hughes’ decades-long journey with Council was a testament to his dedication, commitment, and leadership.
He began his career with Council on 4 January 1993 as an apprentice horticulturist and has since worked his way through a variety of operational and management roles.
“Over the years, Rob has earned the respect of colleagues and community members alike for his professionalism, local knowledge, and
passion for delivering high-quality services,” the Council said.
Mr Hughes said he was proud to be appointed as the Council’s Director of Assets and Operations.
“Having started my career with Council, I am deeply committed to ensuring we continue to provide reliable services and maintain the essential infrastructure that supports the needs of our community,” he said.
Council General Manager Scott Gallacher said Mr Hughes’ journey with Council exemplifies his loyalty and dedication.
“He brings a wealth of experience and a strong community focus to the role,” said Mr Gallacher.
“We had a large number of candidates, but Rob’s passion for both our staff and community made him the stand-out choice.”
