Georges River Council has engaged Traffix to undertake a traffic impact assessment for the next stage of the Princes Highway/Jubilee Avenue and Princes Highway/Park Road Intersection Study.
The work is set to commence this week, with modelling and investigations continuing through November and December.
Once the relevant data has been obtained, it will be analysed and modelled with recommendations to be put forward in a draft report to Council and Transport for NSW (TfNSW), as the Princes Highway is a state road.
“We appreciate that this is a long-standing and complex issue,” said Georges River Council Mayor, Elise Borg (pictured).
“It is a priority of Council’s to address the congestion and safety issues at both intersections in collaboration with Transport for NSW.
“We will ensure that the community remains fully informed and has the opportunity to be engaged to have their say on any proposed changes.”
The Council says it will conduct community consultation early next year. A final report and recommendations are due in April 2025.
