Kiama Council has closed the Reid Park playground in Jamberoo to the public after an overnight fire destroyed most of the play equipment.
“Council thanks the Jamberoo Brigade of the Rural Fire Service for their work extinguishing the fire and preventing further damage,” the Council said in a statement this afternoon.
The Reid Park playground was upgraded by the Council in 2019 at a cost of $121,000.
NSW Police is investigating the blaze.
