COVID case at Latrobe council leisure centre

Latrobe City Council have been advised that a patron who attended the Council-run Latrobe Leisure Moe Newborough has tested positive for COVID-19.

As noted on the listed exposure sites on the Department of Health website, the affected patron attended Latrobe Leisure Moe Newborough on Wednesday 20 October, between 8.00am – 9.15am, Council said in a statement.

“We understand that this will be concerning for members and patrons, who attended the Leisure Centre and to our staff.”

“Since becoming aware of the venues listing, through good internal tracing processes, management has contacted members, patrons and staff who accessed and worked at Latrobe Leisure Moe Newborough, during the identified date and time.

“In line with COVIDSafe practices, Latrobe Leisure facilities are regularly cleaned throughout the day in addition to a comprehensive twice daily clean ensuring the health and safety of patrons and staff.”

Council said the venue remained operational and was open for patrons.

“The safety of members, patrons and staff is management’s number one priority. Management advise that the situation is contained and is being managed directly by the Department of Health.”

“We encourage members, patrons and staff to remain vigilant – monitor for symptoms and get tested if symptoms present,” Council said.
