Australia’s longest-serving Lord Mayor, the City of Sydney Council’s, Clover Moore, looks set to secure a record sixth term.
At the close of NSW local government election counting last night, Lord Mayor Moore had an early lead with almost 37% of the vote, followed by Labor on 17% and the Greens on 13%.
She took to social media at around midnight to thank City of Sydney voters.
“Thank you, Sydney! I am grateful for your support, and excited about continuing the work to ensure our city is the best place to live, work in and visit,” she posted on Facebook.
Votes are not being counted today, but will resume on Monday, the NSW Electoral Commission has advised.
