Blue Mountains City Council is continuing a review of its Dogs in Public Spaces Strategy, inviting residents to get involved in the final round of consultation before a new plan is drafted.
The Council says the review aims to understand what is working well and where improvements can be made in how dogs are managed across the local government area.
Mayor, Mark Greenhill said Council has undertaken an extensive engagement process to ensure a wide range of community views are heard.
“Council has engaged in a thorough and considered process to hear from as many residents as possible,” Mayor Greenhill said.
“This is the final opportunity for the community to share their views before Council begins drafting the revised Strategy.
Once a new draft is prepared, it will be placed on public exhibition, and the community will again have the opportunity to provide feedback.”
An online community workshop will be held on Thursday 12 February from 6.30pm to 8pm via MS Teams. The session will include interactive activities and visual prompts to gather feedback from participants. Council is also seeking residents to participate in two in-person forums at Springwood Hub on Tuesday 3 March and Wednesday 18 March from 6pm to 8pm.
The Council says the forums will bring together a balanced mix of dog owners and non-dog owners from across the Blue Mountains to discuss key issues and help shape recommendations.
