A striking black and white image of Blacktown City Council’s Rouse Hill Regional Park has been judged the winning entry of Council’s inaugural Mayoral Photography Competition.
Schofields resident, Forrest Lin’s image best captured the competition theme ‘Moments in Blacktown’ ahead of more than 740 entries from residents.
Mr Lin took the photo, which includes his children running through the park, during a visit for exercise.
Blacktown City Mayor, Brad Bunting said the competition had proven a hit with the public.
“We had a fantastic response to our first photography competition,” he said.
“Our community is incredibly proud of where we live and produced some amazing photos of people and places in their neighbourhood.
“I would like to thank everyone for participating and submitting such brilliant photos. You will be seeing many more of them soon.”
Popular locations were Blacktown Showground, Nurragingy Reserve at Doonside, The Rooty Hill, Tregear Reserve and Woodcroft Reserve.
Mr Lin’s photo is one of 13 winning entries that will feature in the 2027 Blacktown City Council Community Calendar.
The calendar will be delivered to Blacktown City households later this year.
Council is also planning an exhibition early next year sharing more of the photographs submitted by the community.
