Balonne Shire Council CEO resigns

Balonne Shire Council has today advised that the organisation’s long-serving Chief Executive Officer, Matthew Magin, has tendered his resignation, effective 30 August.

Matthew Magin began his tenure as the CEO on 7 November 2016 and has provided strong organisational management of the Council throughout his term, Balonne Mayor, Samantha O’Toole said in a statement.

“I would like to sincerely thank Matthew for his astute guidance and experience, which has
helped our Council team to deliver some outstanding achievements for our Shire that have
deservedly attracted multiple Awards for programs and initiatives,” the Mayor said.

She said the Council will be immediately commence a recruitment process for the
appointment of a new CEO.

“While this recruitment process is being finalised, Balonne Shire Council will be appointing an interim Chief Executive Officer, and we will advise the community once the Interim CEO is in place,” said Mayor O’Toole.

“In the meantime, I would like to assure all residents that the day-to-day operations of Council will continue business-as-usual while this transition occurs,” she said.
