Narrabri Shire Council has announced the appointment of Eloise Chaplain (pictured) as its new General Manager.
Ms Chaplain has served as Interim General Manager since August 2024. Her appointment follows more than five years of service to Narrabri Shire Council, most recently in the role of Director Infrastructure Delivery.
Prior to joining Council, Ms Chaplain worked as a Mining Engineer with BHP and South32 for a combined period of more than eight years.
“Eloise has earned the respect of her colleagues, the community and this Council through her professionalism, integrity and hands-on approach,” said Mayor, Darrell Tiemens.
“We had an outstanding field of applicants, and the recruitment process was long and gruelling for all involved, which makes this result even more meaningful.
“We are confident she will lead our organisation into its next chapter with strength and vision.
“Narrabri Shire Council looks forward to working with Eloise as she takes on this vital leadership role, building upon the strong foundations laid in recent years and delivering for the people of Narrabri Shire.”
Ms Chaplain holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Queensland and a Master’s Degree in Business (Finance) from the University of New England.
