IPWEA Aotearoa 2026 New Zealand Public Works Forum & Excellence Awards Gala Dinner
In 2026, IPWEA Aotearoa are bringing you the first New Zealand Public Works Forum, which will be held at the Pullman Hotel Auckland, on Thursday 30 April. Focussing on the theme: “From Capability to Community: Leading the Future of Public Works”.
This event brings together engineers and public works professionals from across the country to share practical insights into resilient, sustainable infrastructure across Aotearoa. The programme blends keynotes, technical sessions and real-world case studies covering asset management, funding and procurement, climate adaptation and digital delivery.
You’re also invited to join us for the IPWEA Aotearoa Public Works Engineering Excellence Awards Gala Dinner, to be held on 30 April from 6.30pm after the Forum. Take this opportunity to celebrate the best in the industry, network with peers, and hear from our special guest speaker and former All Blacks Manager Darren Shand.
Theme: From Capability to Community: Leading the Future of Public Works
This year’s theme captures the evolving landscape of public works in Aotearoa New Zealand, where technical excellence meets cultural awareness, sustainability, and community resilience. Across the country, public works are responding to complex challenges like climate adaptation, infrastructure renewal, and equitable service delivery. This theme highlights how we invest in infrastructure, workforce development, and sustainable practices, to not just enhance capability, but build legacies that honour people and place. Join us at the inaugural IPWEA NZ Public Works Forum to explore how today’s public works shape tomorrow’s communities.
We hope to see you there!
