Local councils are increasingly driving the delivery of affordable housing in NSW. This one-day forum invites NSW local councillors, council leaders, planners and staff to explore practical strategies for expanding their impact — from developing affordable housing strategies and programs, to partnering with community housing providers, navigating inclusionary zoning, and councils delivering social and affordable rental housing on council land.

The forum will bring together councillors and leading housing researchers to discuss the challenges and opportunities within NSW’s planning framework and highlight successful council-led initiatives to protect, promote and expand housing that is genuinely affordable and responsive to local community needs.
