Wingecarribee Shire Council will welcome the community back to a new-look Moss Vale Civic Centre and Library from today.
Works on the repair and refurbishment of the building began in January 2020.
Council’s General Manager, Lisa Miscamble said the refurbished building provided a range of improved public facilities.
“The jewel in the crown is without a doubt the reconstructed library,” she said. “It now offers a more welcoming and modern light-filled area for patrons to enjoy at their leisure,” she said.
The library features a range of new facilities including self-service kiosks, designated study and reading areas, a charging station for electronic devices and a haptic learning tactile desk.
“Within the new public area we’ve also included a number of formal and informal meeting rooms for the public to undertake Council business,” Ms Miscamble added.
Other public areas refurbished within the Civic Centre include the Foyer, Council Chambers and Customer Service area.
Central to the refurbishments was improved access for people with disabilities including first floor access, a more inclusive customer service interface with self-service kiosks, inclusion of four meeting rooms, new office space and a reconfigured modern library.
Environmental considerations include the installation of a commercial solar system and energy efficient air-conditioning system for heating and cooling.
