Warren Roberts has been appointed the interim CEO of Victoria’s Brimbank City Council following a special Council meeting.
Brimbank Mayor, Ranka Rasic said Mr Roberts (pictured) was an experienced CEO, having most recently held the position at the City of Stonnington from 2009-2019.
She said Mr Roberts was stepping out of retirement to take up the position while a recruitment process takes place for the ongoing role.
“With my fellow Councillors I welcome Warren to Brimbank and look forward to working with him to continue to deliver much needed services and infrastructure while the Council recruits a future CEO,” said Mayor Rasic.
“We anticipate there is going to be significant interest in this role and we felt it was important to employ someone in a temporary capacity to allow potential candidates fair and equal consideration in their applications.
“Warren’s extensive skills and experience will be extremely valuable to Brimbank and no doubt the city will benefit from his strong leadership and track record of improving community outcomes.
The CEO position became vacant following the retirement of Helen Morrissey. Mr Roberts will start in the role on 12 July 2021.
“I’m looking forward to serving the community and Council of Brimbank as interim CEO,” said Mr Roberts.
“This is an exciting opportunity to lead the organisation and continue to deliver a strong capital works program, sustainability initiatives and community services to help respond and recover from COVID-19.”
