Wangaratta businesses are being invited to attend a free workshop designed to help them better understand government grants, procurement processes, and tender opportunities.
The Winning Government Grants and Tenders workshop will be held on Tuesday 8 September at the Rural City of Wangaratta Council Chambers, Wangaratta Government Centre, providing practical information for businesses interested in supplying to government, applying for grants or responding to tenders.
The event will begin with a presentation from Council staff, outlining the organisation’s procurement requirements, supplier registration processes and current opportunities.
From 6pm, Business Victoria will deliver an advanced workshop covering government procurement processes, grant opportunities and tendering. Participants will receive practical advice on preparing stronger applications and submissions, understanding procurement requirements and promoting their capabilities to government buyers.
Stephen Swart, Director Sustainability and Culture said the workshop would help businesses navigate processes that can often be unfamiliar.
“Many businesses have the skills and experience government organisations are looking for, but procurement and grants processes can be difficult to navigate for those who haven’t worked with government before,” said Mr Swart.
“This workshop will provide practical information to help businesses identify opportunities, understand requirements and prepare stronger submissions.”
Participants will learn how governments purchase goods, services and infrastructure, navigate supplier assessment processes, understand key policies affecting suppliers and improve the quality of grant and tender submissions.
The workshop forms part of Council’s ongoing efforts to support local businesses through skills development, access to information and business growth opportunities.
The event is free to attend. Council says registrations are essential.
