WA sport and recreation clubs are set to receive a $2.1 million funding boost thanks to the latest round of grants available through the WA Government’s Every Club Program.
The State Government has committed $700,000 of funding per year for three years to support club development by:
- providing education, training and professional development opportunities;
- supporting governance, planning and management practices; and
- demonstrating partnerships between local governments, sporting associations and clubs.
“The McGowan Government is committed to supporting local governments across Western Australia to provide clubs, volunteers and participants access to quality sport and recreation experiences through the provision of resources, training opportunities and club development services,” said Sport and Recreation Minister, David Templeman..
“By investing in the Every Club Program we are building industry capacity and capability at all levels from State Sporting Associations through to regional and metropolitan clubs.
“Similarly, the program supports local government authorities to provide support to the many volunteers involved in daily sporting experiences.”
The application round for 2022-23 is now open until 23 November.
Local governments can apply for funding up to $50,000 per annum for three years to support sport and recreation clubs and their volunteers to build their organisational capacity and capability.
The grants are part of the broader Every Club Program aimed at providing an accessible and sustainable model of club development to sport and recreation clubs across WA.
