Dr Nikola Stepanov has resigned as General Manager Planning and Development Services of Toowoomba Regional Council.
Dr Stepanov (pictured) has been named as the new CEO for Tablelands Regional Council.
“From my first day I made it clear the focus was on relationships, both internally with our staff, and externally with our development industry,” Dr Stepanov said in a statement today.
“When I look at how far we’ve come, it’s pleasing to see the improvements which have occurred over those two years.
“We have established this Council as a good place to do business with on development and planning matters, including with the State, industry, primary producers, and business among other stakeholder groups.
“Our team has achieved so much and I’m incredibly proud to see the growth in the team I’ve worked with at Council. I’m confident they will continue to deliver for this community.”
Council Acting CEO, Nick Hauser, thanked Dr Stepanov for her service, wishing her well in her new role.
“Nikola has provided valuable experience in her time at Council,” Mr Hauser said.
“Over the past two years Nikola’s had a strong focus on team culture, has implemented new changes into our policies and procedures and further progressed a new Planning Scheme for the Region.
“I wish her all the best for the future and thank her for her time and service at Toowoomba Regional Council.”
Dr Stepanov’s last day with the Council will be 17 January 2025.
