Smoother ride for Rosewood street

VIC

Motorists are enjoying a smoother ride along William Street at Rosewood following Ipswich City Council’s recent delivery of major road upgrades.

Growth, Infrastructure and Waste Committee Chair, Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding said William Street was an important local thoroughfare.

“Prior to these works, this road was in poor condition and causing concern for motorists and nearby residents,” Mayor Harding said.

“This $740,000 upgrade was delivered as part of council’s road pavement rehabilitation program, a key component of council’s three-year capital works program, which delivered an upgrade of fresh kerb and channel and asphalt.”

Growth, Infrastructure and Waste Committee Deputy Chairperson, Councillor Paul Tully said the works had improved safety.

“William Street is now a lot safer to navigate which is important for the local community,” Cr Tully said.

Deputy Mayor and Division 4 Councillor Russell Milligan welcomed the upgrade.

“I’m pleased to see this work completed, which I know will be of significant benefit for residents of Rosewood,” Deputy Mayor Milligan said.

Division 4 Councillor Kate Kunzelmann said the upgrade not only made the road safer, but also improved the local amenity.

“These works not only improve the local road network but also improve the street appeal,” Cr Kunzelmann said.
