Redland council CEO resigns

Redland City Council CEO, Andrew Chesterman, has tendered his resignation after seven years in the role.

In a special meeting of Council on Friday, Council accepted Mr Chesterman’s resignation and appointed Louise Rusan to Act as CEO from 13 September while Council undertakes the recruitment process for a new CEO.

On behalf of Councillors, Mayor Jos Mitchell thanked Mr Chesterman (pictured) for his service to the Redlands Coast community and wished him the very best for his future.

Mr Chesterman said he was most proud of his connection with employees.

“I wish the Mayor, Councillors, our employees and business partners all the very best, and will watch with great affection as Redland City Council continues to make our location one of the very best places on Earth to live, work and play,” he said.  

Mr Chesterman will continue as CEO until close of business 13 September.
