Popularly-elected Mayor returned in Griffith

Griffith City Council Mayor, Doug Curran, has been popularly re-elected following formal confirmation from the NSW Electoral Commission.

The eight other Councillors joining him are Shari Blumer, Mark Dal Bon, Jenny Ellis, Scott Groat, Anne Napoli, Tony O’Grady, Christine Stead and Laurie Testoni.

Mayor Curran said he looks forward to working closely with his fellow Councillors.

“Together, we have the opportunity to shape a brighter future for our city,” he said

“I’m confident we can all work collaboratively to achieve great outcomes for our residents.”

Council General Manager, Brett Stonestreet, congratulated the new and returning Councillors.

“I look forward to getting to know the new team. It’s always good to have diverse perspectives and ideas brought to the table,” he said.

In the coming weeks, all Councillors will participate in induction and professional development training to prepare for their new roles.

The first meeting of the newly-elected Council will be held on 22 October.
