Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden has been recognised for its award-winning school holiday programs, with the site receiving a Highly Commended in the Outdoor Play category at the Outdoors NSW Awards earlier this month.
Ku-ring-gai Council Mayor, Christine Kay said the award was recognition of the enriching and engaging outdoor play opportunities the Wildflower Garden has to offer.
“Ku-ring-gai kids come away from a day at the Wildflower Gardens with mud on their hands, bush skills under their belt and smiles on their faces,” Mayor Kay said.
“Our award-winning school holiday programs enrich the lives of so many young children in Ku-ring-gai and help spark a passion for conservation.
“This award reflects the dedication of the Wildflower Garden team in creating meaningful, hands-on outdoor play experiences for children in our stunning natural environment.”
At Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden, children aged 6-12 years can take part in full-day school holiday activities, including survival skills, camping and cooking, nature art and animal encounters.
