Councillor Isabelle Tolhurst has been elected unopposed as Mayor of the Victorian Borough of Queenscliffe for a one-year term.
“I’m humbled to have the support of my fellow Councillors in electing me as Mayor of the Borough of Queenscliffe,” she said.
“I’m looking forward to working with Councillors, and plan to bring a fresh perspective, energy and pace to the role”.
Councillor Fleur Hewitt was elected Deputy Mayor for a second term. The Councillor said she was looking forward to working with Mayor Tolhurst over the coming year.
“I’m thrilled to continue in my role as Deputy Mayor of the Borough,” Cr Hewitt said.
“I’m looking forward to supporting our new Mayor as we continue working for our community”.
Council also nominated Councillors to portfolios and committees during the meeting. Councillors were elected to portfolio responsibilities as follows:
- Cr Fleur Hewitt – Governance and Finance;
- Cr Isabelle Tolhurst – Environment;
- Cr Ross Ebbels – Local Economy;
- Cr Michael Grout – Heritage, Planning and Infrastructure;
- Cr Donnie Grigau – Health and Wellbeing.
