New Mayor and Deputy elected for Camden

Camden Council has a new Mayor and Deputy, with Councillor Vince Ferreri and Councillor Eliza Rahman elected respectively at last night’s Ordinary Council Meeting.

Mayor Ferreri said it was a privilege to be elected Mayor of Camden.

“I’m a passionate Camden local who loves my neighbourhood, loves my community and loves being part of such a wonderful place,” he said.

“I’ve been serving on Camden Council for two years, having been first elected in October 2024. The people of this community matter to me and I’m committed to achieving the very best for each and every one of them.

“One important space for me is in the advocacy space. Camden is one of the fastest growing local government areas in the country, with 100 new residents moving in each week. It’s an exciting time to be in this unique position and I’m committed to working in partnership with other levels of government to ensure infrastructure keeps pace with our growth.

“Our community deserves the very best and it’s my job to ensure we continue to deliver the best outcomes possible.”

Deputy Mayor Rahman said she was excited to serve in her new role.

“I can’t wait to continue to serve this wonderful community in my new position. I look forward to all the things we can achieve together,” she said.
