New Director Corporate Services for Edward River

Edward River Council has announced the appointment of Nathan Holahan as its new Director Corporate Services.

Mr Holahan (pictured) will be joining the Council from Murray Irrigation, where he has served as Company Secretary and General Manager Corporate Services since 2020.

A long-time resident of Deniliquin, Mr Holahan has lived in the community for the past 18 years with his partner and two young children.

He completed his Bachelor of Law in 2022 and has a distinguished list of achievements, including completing the Company Directors Course. Mr Holahan is also actively involved in the community, having served as President of the Deniliquin Rugby Union Football Club, and now committee member; and was proudly named Young Citizen of the Year at the Deniliquin Council Australia Day Awards in 2008.

“Nathan’s extensive experience and dedication to our community make him an outstanding choice for this role,” said Mayor, Ashley Hall.

“His leadership and vision will be invaluable as we continue to strive for excellence in serving the residents of Edward River Council.”

Council CEO, Jack Bond, also expressed his enthusiasm for Nathan’s appointment, stating, “Nathan’s strong ties to Deniliquin and his deep understanding of the region and its key issues make him uniquely qualified for this position. His familiarity with our community and his commitment to addressing local challenges will be a tremendous asset to our Council.”

Due to his existing commitments at Murray Irrigation and planned leave, Mr Holahan will commence his role with the Council in July.
