Seventeen Moyne Shire businesses are set to share in more than $45,000 funding to give their shopfronts a spruce up.
At yesterday’s council meeting, funding from the annual Business Façade Improvement Program was allocated to businesses in Port Fairy, Mortlake Macarthur and Koroit.
Mayor, Ian Smith said the annual program was a cornerstone of Council’s business support program.
“This program help businesses look their best, which helps them attract customers and in turn make out streetscapes more attractive and appealing, encouraging passersby to stop in and making our communities attractive places to live and work,” he said.
“Funding allocated under this round of the program will be used for a range of improvements – from painting, new signage, repairs to window frames and improving outdoor areas.
“It’s fantastic to see businesses in each of our main centers benefiting from this program – I’m looking forward to seeing the works completed and the he difference they will make to the appearance and feel of our streetscapes.”
Mayor Smith said it was the fourth round of the program and the total value of projects including business co-contributions was $147,767.
