Moyne Shire Council has closed a local waterfall viewing platform following a request from Victoria Police.
The Hopkins Fall view spot has been identified as a community safety risk as significant amounts of flood water continue to make their way downstream.
A number of roads are also closed in the Mortlake, Panmure, Cudgee and Wangoom Areas due to water levels.
“We ask the community please observe all road closures for their safety and do not attempt to drive through floodwaters,” a Council spokesperson said in a statement on Friday.
“As floodwaters move downstream, we expect properties in Panmure to be impacted in the
coming days. Council crews are continuing to assist SES with preparations and 9000 sand bags are being delivered.
“All property owners have been phoned and door knocked advising them of the risk. A property owner at Hexham has also been notified.”
