Councillor Jason Modica was elected Deputy Mayor at a Special Meeting of Mildura Rural City Council overnight.
Cr Modica (pictured) will fill the position for the remainder of the current term.
The meeting follows the resignation of Councillor Cyndi Power last month.
Under the Victorian Local Government Act 2020, Council was required to hold an election to fill the Deputy Mayor’s position within a month of the position becoming vacant.
