Ku-ring-gai Council has launched a new app that allows residents to look up their bin collection schedule, set bin night alerts and receive push notifications of any unexpected interruptions to waste services.
The Council says the new waste app empowers residents to easily look up their bin collection days, set reminders and access information on how to recycle more effectively, all from the palm of their hand.
Available from iPhone and Android app stores the Your Waste app can:
- Access personalised bin collection schedules;
- Set bin night reminders;
- Receive push notifications of any changes to bin collections, including disruption to services and public holiday services;
- View A-Z waste guide;
- See what can and cannot be placed into recycling, green waste and your general household waste bin;
- Show a recycling map with a range of retail outlets and other drop-off locations accepting used goods for free.
Mayor, Christine Kay said the new app was another initiative in the Council’s goal of digitising key services for residents.
“Our research shows that most people are now accessing information about Council services through their phone or other device,” she said.
“Your Waste is a convenient and easy way to get important information about what’s happening with their waste service.”
