After more than a decade in Administration, the first official meeting of Central Darling Shire Council is set to be held in December, with the organisation also confirming the appointment of an interim CEO.
The newly elected Councillors to be sworn in at the December meeting are:
- Ward A – Peter Sullivan
- Ward B – Max Bradley
- Ward C – Daniel Fusi, uncontested
- Robert (Bob) Stewart,
- Fiona Kelly
- Barbara Perry
Cr Stewart, who has served as the Council Administrator since 2019, will be the Council’s new Chairperson.
Cr Perry is a former Auburn Councillor who has also served 13 years in NSW Parliament including being Minister for Local Government from 2008-2011.
The Council’s first meeting under the new Rural and Remote Council model will be held on Thursday, 4 December at Wilcannia Council Chambers.
Councillors will undergo an induction program to ensure they are ready and equipped to serve the people of Central Darling, the Council said in a statement.
The Council has also announced the appointment of interim General Manager, Robert Hunt. It follows the resignation of General Manager, Greg Hill, last month to take up a position at Coonamble Shire Council.
Mr Hunt will starting in the role on 17 November.
